How did Roberts become Chief? That should have gone to Stevens or Scalia, who were his seniors. If I remember it
right Roberts was Chief right off the bat.

Bush nominated Roberts and the Senate confirmed Roberts. One of the worst picks for the Supreme Court.... and even worse to be Chief ...
It didn’t go by order of senior.. he was nominated by the then President.
The Supreme Court has some real bad choices sitting on that court.
