What Bolton and most of the rest seem to over look: they are advisers. There is one elected President. He did not appoint them to tell him what to do but to ask for their ideas, PERIOD. Same with “the Generals and Admirals”. They work for him, not for what they want to do. That was firmly established by the Truman MacArthur dust up regardless of whether MacArthur was right or not. It was not his decision.
As we have seen over the past few years, Trump has been naive in a good number of his appointments. That is a knock. Of course, most prior presidents since Reagan perhaps have shown they were led by their handlers not the other way around.
