There’s always a new tale and it’s always something that might appeal to old-time hard-line anti-communists, the one part of the Trump support base that the Democrats need to dislodge in order to stand any chance of winning.

The whole Russian collusion thing was a thinly veiled appeal to old-time anti-communist sentiments, the logic being, Putin is essentially KGB and not really any kind of a reformer, we can’t trust him any more than we could trust the Soviets, so anyone taking favors from him can’t be trusted.

Like Obama, the guy who told Putin’s no. 2 man Medvedev that he could do more in his second term.

But let’s forget about that as an inconvenient factoid, Trump was according to failed narrative A some kind of Putin plant about to betray vital U.S. interests if he could stay in power. Yeah, sure, we see the results of that all around us today (if we are delusional).

So this new track seems to be stirring up the same sentiment only using widely disliked Xi Jinping as the new Putin. It may fool a few people. The president is not exactly famous for carefully scripted remarks anyway, who knows what he might have said off the cuff and later clarified by diplomatic notes or other channels.

Personally I don’t care, the alternative to Trump is a very dangerous plunge into globalist anarchy with the current plan being to advance a nearly comatose individual into the White House. There is not much chance of that individual getting more cognitive function between now and 2021, so the real power behind the throne is likely to be the usual suspects, the innumerable globalists who want to get back to their big pet project of dismantling the U.S.A. — and that can only play right into the hands of China and Russia, so I’m saying, who are the real collaborators?
