The perimeter high way...takes you around Atlanta rather than into the middle. The problem though is that you would miss going to the varsity restaurant on I-75 at Ga. Tech. Chilly-dog, onion rings, and a coke. Largest drive in restaurant in the USA.
There’s a Varsity in Athens & one at Jimmy Carter Blvd (first exit north of the perimeter on I-85).
The Gwinnett one (I-85) is by far the nicest one. The one by GA Tech is starting to get run down.
The Varsity FO (frosted orange) is delicious.
