I agree. I, too, am in the people's republic of new jersey, and we are mandated to wear masks in grocery stores, so I simply go with the bandana over my nose & mouth and tied around the back of my neck.
I look like a guy who is about to rob a train on horseback in the 1880's.
It does nothing to prevent the transmission of anything, but it allows me to get into a store to buy food. I pull it down as soon as I am out of the store and in the vestibule on my way out. This has gotten me some dirty looks from some Karens, but I really don't care. It's all theater at this point. I have not and will not be wearing a mask outside.
If you are in a vulnerable population (elderly, obese, immune-compromised), then by all means; stay home, be diligent about your health and avoid the 'maskless demons' like me. Please don't demand that the other 99% of the population acquiesce to your fear and curtail our daily lives to this ridiculous degree.
