I’m not a great FDR fan but he was a diehard conservative compared to most in either party today. There is a huge difference between offering a government job that paid enough for a hard day’s work to buy some food and the mess we have now.

Definitely; he watched what unfolded not just in post-war Germany but also throughout Europe, and understood that something had to be done if we didn’t want to face the same choice offered to most Europeans - Bolshevism or fascism. Before WWII even started, he watched the war in Spain break out in 1936 driven by leftwing violence - and he understood where America’s upper class would end up in that situation (in Spain they were targeted in those areas held by the leftists, and their properties and factories seized).

What’s amazing is that people who are apparently too dumb to get an ID to vote know intimately the economics of welfare payments.

“Liberals” have long understood that when you make something more expensive, there will be less demand for it. So they’re more than happy to raise taxes on those things of which they disapprove.

For some reason, they’ve never managed to understand the inverse. If you pay someone for something, they will produce more of it. For instance, when you pay overtime rates, people will be willing to work longer hours. But this extends to bad behavior as well. If you reward bad behavior, you will get more of it.

Another useful study would be to find out how badly the "black culture" that discourages Blacks to become educated, because it makes them look like they're "acting White" actually drives poverty, crime rates, and prison population.

Why is it that Black legal immigrants, who ignore that sick culture actually do far better than most native-born Blacks, but once their children succumb to and adopt that culture and values, those children no longer do as well as their parents.
