Former television news meteorologist Mark Ronchetti won the states Republican primary election for U.S. Senate, taking more than half the votes in a three-way race through partial results on Tuesday night.

Ronchetti will now face Democratic U.S. Rep Ben Ray Luján and Libertarian Bob Walsh in the November general election. Neither had competition in their parties primaries.
The seat is currently held by Sen. Tom Udall, who announced he would not run for another term.

The Senate has become the House of Lords.
The Founding Fathers are spinning.
And the GOP candidate has zero real chance in the election probably?
“And the GOP candidate has zero real chance in the election probably?”
Probably not, the Libertarian seals his fate.
How familiar are you with your stare party apparatchiks? My bet is plenty of people would run, but they’d have to do it fighting the local and state party slobs.
Conservatives need to find and run their own candidates and do it without the party’s so-called assistance.
Meteorologists are usually OK on “we’re all going to die from Climate change”, but meteorologists that run for senate probably should not be trusted.
If he wants to have a Productive discussion with democrats on Global Warming, its probably better if the Democrat wins NM.
If he wants to see what real climate change looks like (with no SUV’s involved), he needs to visit Chaco Canyon in his own state. 800 years ago people could live/farm there. Not even remotely possible today.
“Emotionally deranged idiots” describes not just most Democratic officeholders but also a decisively large slice of the Democratic electorate.
1. As a former television weather reader, he has some name recognition, and he has a pretty face.
2. The ongoing anarchy and lawlessness of the left and the Democrats might result in a "red wave" of Republican victories.
The 17 amendment upended the purpose the Senate and eliminated State participation in federal government. It was the beginning of our downfall.
This election we need seats. Im willing to have RINOs to keep our majority. Yes nothing gets done with a republican majority, but things will get done with a democrat majority and it wont be pretty.
“Evil and emotionally deranged” describes all Democrats everywhere. There, fixed it.
“Losertarian Boob Walsh”
"Former meteorologist - needs help" ...
I always thought that was funny ...
Yes, his job will be to make sure the demonrat wins.
Libertarian candidates are a curse. They end up empowering evil Democrats. When will they realize that there is no purity in politics. The country would be far better off if Republicans, warts and all, won the next election. If the Democrats win there might not be a country. No joke.
I've always thought that it wonderful if someone or organization would go about interviewing all those folks that run for all local offices, even school board and such.. They could have a series of questions to determine their political philosophy.. And make that information available to the voters.. Wouldn't that be nice.
Quick, somebody ask him what his forecast is for the General Election!?
What are you thinking? We are in a fight to the death with the Democrats to preserve this Republic and you make this comment? Never, never, never vote for a Democrat for any reason and that includes voting for some third party or staying away from the polls.
No. You have it 180 degrees backwards.
The House of Lords does nothing. Purely ceremonial.
The House of Representatives, which is supposed to have above all the power of the purse and budget, is today’s House of Lords. The GOP made it sick under Zero when for eight years they did not enforce ANY of their Constitutional rights by shutting down gubment or impeaching Zero. Those were their two options.
Instead, ALL power has now devolved upward to the Senate, which through its judge and confirmation powers now is the ONLY house that matters.
Botoxic’s insane impeachment was the final act in the suicide of the House. It can do nothing now. It can’t/won’t pass any bills that have any chance of becoming actual laws; it has no confirmation powers. So the House is now entirely an ornament in gubment. A US version of the House of Lords.
