By that, do they mean that the paper omits some mugshots, deliberately printing more minority mugshots? Or do they mean a disproportionate number of minorities are committing the crimes? Could that be why they are going to quit printing them? They don't want the public to get the right idea?
Orlando paper did the same. Let’s live in pretend land. The results will be fantastic.
Actually, I agree with this policy. An arrest is not a conviction. Subjecting potentially innocent people to public shame (a punishment in itself) is not what our country stands for. I’ve always found the mug shot galleries repugnant. Publish the pics if/when a conviction occurs.
