Protesters in Portland, Ore., Sunday evening tore down a statue of Thomas Jefferson outside a high school that was named after him, according to a report.
The tear-down came about during a march organized by Rose City Justice to protest police brutality one of many demonstrations in weeks following the death of George Floyd while in the custody of the Minneapolis Police Department.
The group had gathered outside Jefferson High School in Northeast Portland before marching to the park, Fox 12 reported. By the time they returned, a statue of Thomas Jefferson, the third U.S. president, had been pulled from its pedestal by a smaller group.
Earlier in the day, the statues pedestal had been defaced with graffiti that labeled Jefferson as a slave owner. Jefferson had more than 600 slaves, despite publicly speaking out on the institution and writing the words all men are created equal in the Declaration of Independence.
Theres an interesting piece of history up her. e... Mr. Thomas is all beside himself, the marchs organizer said before the statue was torn down. Were taking this city back. One school at a time. One racist statue at a time.

Will they protest at hillarys place, she was honored to speak at the funeral of her long time friend and mentor the former head of the KKK senator Byrd. Of coarse they wont because its not about black, white, slavery, racism, its about overthrowing this country and making it a Marxist state
They dont even call them democrats anymore. I hear more democrats calling them segregationists. Ugh. Why do they get away with this. I said about how a Democratic Governor of Alabama was against black rights at schools and they said, no that was a segregationist. What? Pisses me off!
Welcome to North Mexico, Gringo is It.

I’m waiting for the petition to change the name of Washington State or Washing DC, because he was a slave owner as well.
The Democrat party had nothing to do with the Confederacy or slavery, but the party actually fought against slavery according to Wikipedia. Just read the entry.
It is important to understand the mind of a person who would destroy something they are incapable of building themselves.
Then once you understand that mind, put a bullet through it.
Can we shoot people soon?
Asking for a friend...
So, it's finally happened. I've stood a few feet from his grave. I understand they will not let anyone get that close anymore. The Declaration was for Black people too. Will we all now go to hades in a haversack?
Every record has been destroyed or falsified, every book rewritten, every picture has been repainted, every statue and street building has been renamed, every date has been altered.
And the process is continuing day by day and minute by minute. History has stopped. Nothing exists except an endless present in which the Party is always right.
Do you suppose Orwell would have been surprised?
Shouldn’t the Black descendants of Thomas Jefferson now drop their ‘bragging rights’, to be the descendants of the person they now bitterly hate.?
Our nation was fought for and established for far less indignity than is occurring now. Just saying....
Just like the Taliban and ISIS.
Originally when trying to decide on a name for Washington State, they wanted to call it Columbia State (after the large river), but folks thought that would be far too confusing with the District of Columbia, so they decided on Washington instead.
“......Im waiting for the petition to change the name of Washington State or Washing DC, because he was a slave owner as well........”
Well Jefferson did own slaves....
No, he would be disappointed that he was proved right.
Because Thomas Jefferson is responsible for all those failing grades by the students at that school.
These people need to stay away from the Mt Rushmore 4th of July fireworks display...and every other day after that
