I left eBay after 17 years buying and selling on it because it did nothing when a buyer sent me used beat up items instead of the new item I had paid for, despite their “guarantee” of buyer protection. I also bought some live plants and what I was sent was half-dead plants, with no offer to replace them by the seller unless I paid for shipping. Fuhgeddaboutit! I wasn’t sending good money after bad. I figured out that eBay deletes a lot of the negative comments buyers leave in order to have good ratings for sellers. And, they particularly protect their “super-sellers”, deleting virtually all negative ratings so they can earn more from more sales. eBay is a very dishonest company defrauding the public, with no seeming penalties from the government. What these employees did to that couple is horrific and they should be cooling their evil heels in prison for a L-O-N-G time.

_______
They don’t advocate against unscrupulous buyers, either.
I have stopped selling in eBay after 20+ years without one negative review. A buyer purchased an antique perfume bottle for 1/3 of its book value. Turned out, she was decanting contents and re-selling milliliters, then reselling the empty bottle for more than the full bottle. She wanted a refund because the stopper was frozen. She never asked and frozen stoppers are usual after 73 years. I paid shipping both ways and was in the red after the entire issue.
Nothing I said mattered. It was a case of making the buyer happy.
I won’t purchase there, either, anymore.
I very rarely order on line. Maybe twice a year but have had too many problems.
I quit eBay after getting the wrong book twice. Same problem with Amazon so both have been nixed.
After an order from HP computer, an employee used my credit card number for oodles of Apple purchases. Apple and HP both wouldn’t cooperate with LE. Both of these companies have also been nixed.
I seriously need a new keyboard but the only site that has it is a shady looking Canada site.
