Former CNN anchor Soledad O'Brien made stunning claims on Saturday that a network exec once told her she could only have the "right kind" of black guests on her show.
Reacting to the controversy that has rocked ABC News over the weekend, O'Brien reflected on her time at CNN and indicated that a network executive discouraged her to sit down with black radio host Roland Martin.
"This is an interesting read. Reminds me of the CNN exec who told me: 'Roland Martin isn’t the ‘right kind of’ Black person.' She didn’t want me to book him on my show. L," O'Brien tweeted.

It's not just 'light and dark - there are names for the various shades between dark and light... It's the same with many other non-white cultures. They rate the 'whitest' among them as more desirable. Then they project that silliness on to us.

Even when it was right in front of me, I had to look twice to see the obvious. Does that mean I’m not a racist?
No, it does not.In today’ climate, everything and anything is racists.

That's been going on for ages. The house slaves looked down on the field slaves...felt superior to them. And in the 54th and 55th Massachusetts Infantry Regiments during the Civil War, the free black men who served in those units had no use for the contraband regiments who were organized by the likes of Colonel James Montgomery, and Lt. Colonel James Beecher who organized the 1st North Carolina Colored Infantry, later known as the 35th Regiment, United States Colored Infantry. The men of the 54th and 55th looked down their noses at those regiments. The thing is that there were runaway slaves in both of those units, but none of the men could admit to it, and had to lie to take the oath upon joining.

A book of local history has pictures (1940s-'50s) of a black ladies' charitable society. Almost all of the women were very, very light. Where were the medium- and dark-complected women?
I'm not at all surprised with CNN executives, for them it's about Leftist narcissism and the money they desire to feed such narcissism.

In “Sociology,” it was pointed out how “Ebony,” a popular magazine aimed at the Black American market, featured only light skinned folks. There was no ebony in “Ebony!”
Not sure how it is now. It is sad that people of the same race could discriminate against one who was darker. Wouldn’t that be called “Racism?” YOU BETCHA!
It’s the same in the Hispanic world, watch any Mexican TV show, all European looking actors and actresses.

My Grandfather once told me 60 years ago to watch, keep your mouth shut, because a Fox always smells his/hers own hole first. Ive found this to be true all my life, a thief will say somebody stole it, a liar says someone is lying and so on. That first impression has paid off many times.

When was the last time o’brien was on cnn? Pretty ckear they’ e since tossed any of that restraint right out the window.
