We’ve been on the radio a bunch and no signal, not even from our own neighborhood. Which according to Sagan has billions and billions of planets at least a few of them should be broadcasting.
There's no guarantee that we'd pick up any radio signals from other planets with life. Radio is weak over long distances unless it was specifically being aimed at us. But why would it be? Life bearing planets don't have to be radio using planets either.
