There is no “holiday”. I only found out about it a few years back watching some documentary, and my husband never heard of it until I asked him about The Whole controversy (Tulsa had massacre and its “Juneteenth”).
To me it will always be my sisters birthday, RIP.
And frankly I cringe at the stark stupidity of the “name”.
