“I can remember my mom singing that crocodile song!”
My Mom had a friend who sang the Crocodile song to us. She also sang an song about, “There once was a man and he was an encyclopedia...” but I remember very little of it.
She used to delight my sister and me when she visited!
My mom also sang this one:
Oh the only girl I had
Had a face like a horse and buggy
Leaning up against
The middle of the fence
Fireman save my child!
But the child was bigger than the fireman
Yes, the child was bigger than the fireman
Be careful with that monkey wrench
My father was a nut nut nut nut
Peeking through the knothole in Grandpa’s wooden leg
Who’ll wind the clock while I am gone
Got the rheumatism
Go get the ax
There’s a fly on baby’s chest
A boy’s best friend is his mother
No other
Oh there’s some of us that ain’t et yet!
