He never would have gotten the proof... because he was the actual target of their illegal activity before the election, and especially after the election. It may have been fortuitous that he didn’t ask for proof in one way - but either way Trump was totally out of the loop on what was going on, and had no one with inside intellidence experience but Flynn who could have helped him. They all knew they had nothing on Trump and they had to cover up. When Mueller came aboard, they still knew there was nothing (that’s why Mueller refused to answer when he first knew there was no evidence), and all they could do was set a perjury trap for POTUS, just like they did for Flynn. Except Trump out-lawyered them on that issue, and his public statements on twitter and elsewhere stymied them at every turn. Mueller was boxed in, in part because what was he going to use nothing as “proof”? Dossier? Comey’s firing? that Rosenweasel wrote the letter for Trump. Brilliant moves by Trump - and speaking publicly about it. His lawyer came out recently and blistered Mueller as a liar.
In the meantime, Flynn agrees to plead guilty to lying about sanctions. What was the inducement?
I expect we will eventually hear from Flynn who remains under a gag order. I also expect that we will hear what the special counsel’s “investigators” wanted him to say just as we have from George P. The interview of George P with Sebastian Gorka was eye-opening for me. They literally demanded that he say what they wanted him to say and he kept telling them “that is not true.”
I expect Flynn’s decision was what Sidney Powell said - threats to prosecute his son, bankruptcy, and poor legal advice. He had nothing to really cooperate with, but pledging his cooperation made for a good news cycle and created the image that there something there that wasn’t.
I will take her at her word until I know different or he says differently.
