Let’s assume he did that:
So we have three parties Rats, GOP & Trumps party.
Rats have a garaunteed 47% the one thing Romney was right about, that leaves 53X% (Note 2016 Trump 46% Hillary 48% Difference 2% down) Basically both sides are essentially equal.
1. 50% GOP voters stay with GOP, 50% go with Trump. Of the three parties who wins?
2. 30% GOP voters stay with GOP, 70% go with Trump. Of the three parties who wins?
3. 10% GOP voters stay with GOP, 90% go with Trump.
I think you notice there is no way you can take a smaller number or nearly equivalent number divide it and make a larger number.
Thanks to the electoral college our system is not 100% dependent on raw numerical superiority. However it still is very sensitive to it.
Dividing your strength in the face of the enemy is very rarely smart. It only works in special circumstances.
Easier & safer for Trump forces to continue to take over the GOP.
Typo
Note 53X% should be 53%
Thanks for the reply and I sincerely appreciate hearing your views on the case of the “GOP vs. the People”. ;)
I understand your points but I think there’s a tremendous amount of frustration with the GOP and that a large percentage of people would be happy to abandon it since the GOP stands for nothing. Why belong to a party with no principles or convictions? Why support a party that routinely stabs us in the back? Why vote for a party whose elected officials won’t back the person chosen to be president by the party’s voters?
I think people would exit the GOP in droves in order to get behind a Trump sponsored movement. The GOP would become a carcass.
I do not believe that the Trump forces will be able to take over the GOP. I say this based on the fact that I am close to people who worked inside the GOP and knows who really runs the party. They are never going to allow their party to succumb to the rule of “outsiders”.
You can take that to the bank.
