You can count the under 35’s that oppose this stuff on the fingers of one hand.

I think the situation appears as you’ve described because, as the saying goes, it’s the squeaky wheel that gets the attention. But I believe the vast majority of people under 35 are not participants or supporters of the lunatic fringe, On the other hand, I’m sure there are a great many of them who deem it necessary to act rebellious and cheer on the thugs, but if/when threats of physical danger get serious most all of them will become basically invisible.
That doesn’t make them ‘not commies’.
It just makes them ‘cowardly commies’.
