Ray Ciccarelli leaving NASCAR saying he doesn’t like the direction it is headed

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Nascar driver Ray Ciccarelli took to Facebook Wednesday to announce he is leaving the sport once the 2020 season is over.

In his Facebook post, Ciccarelli said he does not like the direction Nascar is headed, adding that he does not believe in kneeling during the National Anthem nor does he believe in taking away the right for people to fly whatever flag they choose.

He made the announcement shortly after Nascar decided to ban the Confederate flag from its races and tracks.

Ciccarelli explained that he could care less about the Confederate flag, but said some people fly it and that does not make them racist.

In his Facebook post, Ciccarelli said it has been a fun ride and a dream come true.

Resign and watch watch Winston pass to the defense.

I started watching NASCAR around 1996 and stopped around 2003. First they were forced to remove all tobacco sponsors. Then they slowly abandoned firearm sponsors and even automotive sponsors for new “hip” sponsors. Finally they got rid of country music for rock/metal bands and even rap. The other issues were going for the playoff system of points, sudden rule changes to extend a race, rulings that favored certain drivers etc. Let’s also not forget the car of tomorrow and Toyota entering the series]]

‘competition yellows’, stages nonsense- etc-

NASCAR aint what it used to be- exciting and fun to watch- now it’s boring- anti-American- Pro Riots apparently- They are doing their part to keep the riots and racial grievances going ahead full steam-

Quite true. NASCAR correctly worries about its aging and declining fan base, but offending that fan base is not a plausible survival strategy. My guess is that NASCAR is mindlessly relying on recommendations from an absurdly expensive marketing study to appeal to Blacks and Hispanics as a potential new demographic. How about NASCAR instead aim to incrementally improve the fan experience and deepen the commitment of fans? You know, make it better to be a NASCAR fan.

Drew Brees could learn a thing or two about standing on principles

AMEN. Is NASCAR actually going to allow kneeling during the National Anthem now?? If NASCAR allows it, then all the other US sports will allow it. All sports will therefore be dead to me then!

The corporations that sponsor nascrap are raving liberal globalist and nascrap has gotten way used to the millions of dollars that are pumped into the sport. It will dry up some day and I dont think that far off.

NASCAR is only worried about one thing $$$$. Their big money is on the 200 mph billboards for 4 hours every race. The sponsors will control what they do.

“THE KILLING FIELDS”
We first saw the film in 1987. It’s been stuck in my alleged brain since and I wanted to see it again...especially now!
It can be seen at the link below. I downloaded it and added it to my collection. If you have never seen it, I urge you to do so.
As you watch, the most dangerous words in ANY language may run thru your head. Then ask if you ever thought we’d see gangs of little communists running through city streets destroying property and assaulting citizens as some of them took control of 6 square blocks of Seattle while issuing demands to the local government?
Also note how the tyrant employs the nation’s youth. Look familiar??
Oh yes: The most dangerous words?
WHY THAT COULD NEVER HAPPEN HERE!

“Ray Ciccarelli leaving NASCAR saying he doesn’t like the direction it is headed”

What do you expect from a sport that’s designed around turning left 400-500 times each week?

I’ll agree to the kneeling PC ONLY IF Colin Kaepernick agrees to kneel in the middle of the race track when 30 cars start racing.

It would be worth the sight, or as we say in “Happyville”, it would be PRICELESS!

As are the telecom providers that carry the feeds.

Not that difficult to broadcast NASCAR including the telemetry via independent operations.

NASCAR and all the other pro sports organizations are going to pay a painful price for their BS. , All this signaling being done is just turning folks off to sports and attitudes, folks were already turning off from. Football attendance was down and declining. All this crap will only speed up the process.

Pretty much all of these team owners are billionaires. The ones that haven’t reached that mark are still wealthy enough that their families will never run out of money.

Robert Kraft was a billionaire before he bought the Patriots. They could shut down Foxboro, cancel the season and stop playing. Robert Kraft is still a billionaire. Most of his players will be in the poorhouse in no time.

Only folks I feel bad for are the ones that work at the venues. The working stiffs at the concessions stands and all the other support jobs that make those places run.

If the Brees family and those like them were so ashamed of who they are and what they said, sell everything and live among the common folks. Donate all money to BLM, etc.

I bet it’s real easy to virtue signal from a secure 10,000sf house somewhere, far removed from any protests and riots.

Their hypocrisy is quite embarrassing and sickening.
