In public hearings and press conferences, activists — namely members of the advocacy group Reclaim the Block — shared personal stories for why they disagree with Frey’s plan to grow MPD’s budget: specifically his proposal to add 14 new officers in 2020.

At the same time, downtown business leaders and other residents called for the City Council to grow the police force — beyond what Frey had proposed — to improve public safety.

Defunding the police has been a thing in Minneapolis for a while before Floyd. The state had been running a surplus before Covid and now its running a deficit.

This Floyd mishap is nothing more than the opportunity the leftists were looking for to push their agenda further. We are witnessing the death of America and for some that’s exactly what they want. Just remember everyone, this world is not our home . . . a better forever place awaits for those who believe in Jesus as Lord of their lives.
