I understand using a knee to restrain someone is common worlwide???
I recall Police restraining someone at Vancouver airport. Police tased the man. The man had some weird medical condition, and died.

Point being, techniques that are effective and safe in almost all situations can result in a very bad outcome.

Thank you for taking on a very tough job, a job I could not perform

A knee to the back is a common occurrence when you’re wrestling with someone. Whether by design or chance it inevitably happens. Once the cuffs are on, you have to shift gears, no matter what.

As for Taser’s, I’ve been tased in training but never used one. They’re commonplace all over the world because they do work as intended. However, there is a small group that wants them banned as well due to folks being teased and dying. Only later to be shown that they had a heart attack or something else and the electricity from the Taser was not the cause of death.
