Cars won’t self drive they will be totalitarian government driven. You will go where you are allowed when you are allowed.
Just imagine, you were intending to go to work and the car delivers you to the police station for the wrong think you tweeted the night before.
There has been talk of the future government allowing you to own a car or not. “Your current car just may be the last one you will be allowed to own yourself.” Less pollution if they say no to you more often. Also, don’t drive to those nasty conservative gatherings. A no-no.

“You don’t need to own a car, you need to pay for a ride.” When you need a car they will be around, but you won’t have the right to own one yourself. Or go where or when you choose.
So the Henry Ford idea of the free open road and young people dating someone far away and working far away with their own car rather than a bus, streetcar or interurban line with its route and schedule laid out for you-—is waning.
