I’m glad at least one other person thinks like me on this subject.
I’m waiting for some state board of regents to announce that effective next year all of the state funded universities will no longer have athletic programs since they no longer serve their original purpose but instead have become sources of political controversy. The schools will return to their original roots of being institutes of higher learning and not farm teams for the NBA and NFL.
The alums would scream bloody murder but this simply can’t go on.
Even if the Gators are projected to be good this year, I have very little enthusiasm right now for the season.
College Football isn’t what it was. All the great traditions are gone. Just another corporate playground now.

In my case it’s easy, I hate sports in general. No need for me to support any of them.
It will be like the Soviet Union where they will take you in because you hadn’t denounced anybody.
