This sounds right but, as you say, is opposite of the discouraging reporting of the media.
All we hear is that elite, rich athletes support rioting; elite, rich corporate executives support rioting; elite, rich ministers support rioting; elite, rich Republicans support rioting; elite, rich retired Generals support rioting; and so forth and so on.
