I think a big weakness of this is that there is no practical long term plan to keep this from resulting in a power vacuum that will be exploited by someone whose first act will probably be to execute all the useful idiots.

There is a solution...don’t post stuff in Twitter. Seems easy enough to me. I don’t use Twitter, never look at Twitter. I also don’t post things online that could cause others to attack me. Similarly if I was going to advocate for armed revolt I certainly wouldn’t use any online method for that.

So if the way to shut down witch hunts in the past was for leadership to put their foot down, that explains why they went after leadership first to take it out of commission. So we have a strategy of going top down. Now we are at the police level, so presumably these guys feel confident that Trump and others once put down will stay down. The witch hunts had the church as its organization and leadership, and religious thought (particularly at the time) was primed for this. It’s not the church that shut this down.
I think this is a matter of large numbers of people just saying no more. For that to happen they will need to see that this is indeed a witch hunt predicated on superstition, mob hysteria, and a complete lack of due process.
I live in a suburban to rural area on the edge of a small town. I like the area because it’s a community where people largely tend to mind their own business.
Last fall however some neighbors have sought to enact a neighborhood watch group. They invited me to join but I demurred. Now they are pestering me to join a social media page (https://nextdoor.com/) where neighbors are encouraged to “chat”.
I looked up the site and noticed that I couldn’t preview content without committing to join so I backed away. This sort of thing plays to the Nosey-Nellie types and I have no interest in exposing myself to any of that nonsense. Your two anecdotes are the perfect reason why not! I just want to be left alone.
Now if I can only decline without calling too much attention to myself!

I have read the somewhat frequent stories of a Christian being subjected to a Pakistan Islamic mob for just one person accusing the man/woman/child of an offense against their highly sensitive outrage. Reading that I would shake my head about how horrible such actions were in that lawless region.

Micro-aggressions, a word coined by the LEFT just a few years ago, generate massive overkill in lost jobs like above just on a single perceived offense!
