Political evolution is interesting to watch. 20 odd years ago GWB was idolized by the majority here. Had daily threads with photos and guffaw gushing. Suspensions for not towing the line were not uncommon.
Now Bush is reviled.
Funny how things and people change.
I was young and stupid.
He had good camouflage, he did not reveal his amnesty agenda until after he was re-elected.
I was opposed to him for most of his second term.
It didn’t take long for him to make me regret my votes.
That was called having hope (9/12) after losing all hope (9/11). We were scared and stupid and naive. We gambled on him doing the right thing for this country after the devastation. It took months to finally realize he was a POS President. One bad decision after another. What can I say? I was one of those people. I thought he was going to be Superman. He turned out to be Stuporman.
Will be intriguing to monitor FR assessments of U.S. presidents when 2035 rolls around.
A lot of FEAR Republic posters have forgotten about Ronald Reagan.
I remember when I opened one of those pro-Bush threads, Bush was throwing the W sign (3 extended fingers), so I captioned the pic “This is the Amendment I’m going to violate next.” Got some blowback for that one.
Bush changed, not us. And, honestly, if Trump had treated my brother the way he treated Yeb! I wouldn't be a fan either. That said, I'm very glad Trump was there to squash another Bush presidency.
