There’s enough private money - companies, individuals, neighborhoods - in LA to hire them away from LAPD, at least for a while.
Wouldn’t that be something if LA had no police, only private security.
Mercenary outfits would have a field day. The civil rules of force that "inwards" expect from the police to don't apply to private guards and homeowners.
It might actually be beneficial.
