Juries in urban areas typically will not convict black defendants even if they are obviously guilty of crimes. Because black jurors will rarely convict black defendants, prosecutors are forced to plea-bargain cases down to virtually nothing. Virtually all of my black defendants from urban areas have criminal rap sheets that are a mile long before they finally end up serving substantial periods of time. In suburban and rural counties, where white juries routinely convict all defendants who should be convicted, white defendants receive very harsh punishment. A white drug dealer in a suburban county will receive a significant punishment as compared to a black to find it in an urban area, who will get multiple slapped on the wrist.
If you really want to cure your daughter of this politically correct propaganda, my suggestion is that you contact an urban Police Department and arrange for a ride-a-long with the police. Most police departments will allow citizens to ride with a police officer. Trust me, one night in your local urban area will open her eyes to what the police see, and what she has not seen In her young life.
