Can I ask a stupid question?
Normally with protest marches or events such as gay pride parades, organizers need to apply for and be approved for a parade permit or a similar legal authorization to have their event take place. They are supposed to have estimates of how many people they expect to show up, plan together with City officials as to how many law enforcement or emergency Personnel might be needed, bring in porta potties, etc.
How is it that somebody can announce a million people are going to descend on Washington this weekend, especially in this era of social distancing we are supposed to be observing, and nobody in any position of authority is saying, no , you cannot bring a million people in to Stage a protest because you don’t have to be legal authorization to do so.
There you go, making sense again.

Some mayors may be afraid to say no. They may be followed home that night. Or, if they refuse and are called ‘racist’ that alone is enough to attract a crowd against them too.
They have created a medusa headed frankenstein that is spiraling out of control.
It’s going to take a few mayors and governors who do not care what the Twitters of the world have to say about it. If they really wish to control the riots, our president has already said he is ready to help out. That may be all it takes, standing up to the bullies of the left. Just say NO, and don’t apologize or agonize over it.
Because the mayor, Muriel Bowzer (appropriate name) is a rabid leftist, and doing everything she can to make it happen.
This is just crazy.
You can come into DC to riot and loot, but if you are a small business guy who runs a gym, and you open up, you might just be thrown in jail. But there are plenty of empty cells if you do get imprisoned, because the criminals have been set free to protect them from COVID-19. I mean, wtf! Have we gone totally insane?
No permits needed because the goal is the overthrow of President Trump, which is the goal of the Democrapts, President for Life Obomba, Geo. Soros and all of the other socialists and communist groups in this country, and “mayor” Browser.
That law only applies to protests against Democrat ideals. It does not apply when the left wants to have a giant protest.
