The world's really been raising the bar on satirists lately. Half the time you can't tell.
I actually had business dealings with the HQ of the organization around 1999. It would have been for printing Bible menmory cards. They went with Chinese printed cars instead of the ones I would have had printed in Dallas. They actually paid more to a non-Christian company. Why? Because the Awana VP wanted me to bill them with 180 days terms. I could not do more than 60.
Christian? As a Christian I was suprised the VP had a such a worldly attitude. I was not surprised when Master Clubs gained so many churches locally.
“Please press 1 for English, 2 for Spanish, and 3 for Karen.”
Ha, that is funny. I wonder if the amount of complaint calls would decrease if that were really used?
Thus sayeth Gideon7 “Not knowing what Awana means is usually a tell that a person is not evangelical.”
You Sir are correct.
Thanks everyone! Never heard of this group before.
Used to be that churches who wanted to do an Awana program had to sign a statement saying they wouldn’t have any charismatic or Pentecostal activities as a church. Still true?
No problem. More prevalent in small, conservative evangelical churches.
My kids went to AWANA and loved it. A church has to be fairly large to have the resources to host an AWANA program though, so those who attend smaller churches may not know of it. Wouldn’t think they would be libtards, though it’s easy to imagine that the organization can become focused on activities, programs and revenues rather than the message.
