We are asking a LOT of cops in this instance, becasue we know that a 70-year-old man can pull a trigger about as well as a 20-year-old.
Should the cops have known he had a phone, not a gun? It’s not like they didn’t have a hundred things to watch out for; he could also have had a knife.
They pushed him back, not terribly hard. Did the KNOW he was 70 years old, they had like a second to respond, and they are supposed to immediately know that a guy coming up to them is old, frail, unarmed, and means no harm — remember, it’s not like they shot him, they just pushed him away.
The guy was asking for a confrontation as the still photos show.....this group were under orders to proceed to enforce the curview....this bozo tried to interfer ....and again...What part of ‘Get out of the way did he not understand?
I dated a Officer who was Head of D.A.R.E....he said the public has no idea at all of the people they contend with every single day.....then he shared about those. It was a mind boggling lesson I will never forget.
Additionally my Uncle Was Sheriff of Niagra Falls and Buffalo.....shared a lot of stories of how often officers are killed, attacked and maimed. There’s a reason they’ve been given body armor in our days.
.....until you walk in an officers shoes for even one day...the public really hasn’t a clue, they really don’t.
“old, frail, unarmed, and means no harm....”
I’m almost as old as that tall, wiry, possibly armed, and aggressive guy.
