I’ve had Alaskan friends tell me that its a myth that Alaskans are the rugged individualists we think that are. They’re very much into the welfare game particularly the Indian population.


Do you mean the Eskimo population?

Do your “Alaskan friends” call the Eskimo people Indians? Just curious.

I think Inuits are also called Eskimo. They are only one of several native groups in Alaska.

They use Inuit or Native Americans (Actually there’s several flavors!), I used Indian in this case.

I used Indian because I just didn’t want to take the time to make the distinction and anyway my point is about large numbers being on the dole.

Think of the Canadian Maritime provinces in regard to the dole only worse.
