Yes, there is always disruption in the economy.

The horse & carriage industry got displaced by the automobile. The typewriter industry got displaced by the personal computer. And so on. It always sucks to be part of the displaced industry but it's important to learn different skills and adapt.

I think we are seeing disruption in fast-forward these days.

One major disruption I see is that corporate offices will give way to home offices for many. So landlords of office buildings may be in for hard times as corporations downsize their office space as they shift their workforces to "work-at-home" on a permanent basis. However, great opportunities will develop elsewhere to service this remote workforce.

Smart landlords will convert their vacant office space to "hotel-like" space that they can rent to corporations on a daily basis. For instance, Company A rents the space on Monday, Company B rents the space on Tuesday, and so on. So five companies share the space and split the cost five ways. That way their workers spend four days a week working at home but come in on the one day for meetings, training sessions, etc.
