BEIJING China tightened controls over dissidents while pro-democracy activists in Hong Kong and elsewhere sought ways to mark the 31st anniversary Thursday of the crushing of the pro-democracy movement centered on Beijings Tiananmen Square.
That came after authorities in Hong Kong took the extraordinary move of canceling an annual candlelight vigil in the semi-autonomous Chinese territory's Victoria Park for the first time in 30 years.

Maybe the mainstream will report on how many people really died in the Tienanmen Square masacre.
Actually they’re coming down pretty hard in several ways on Hong Cong and not wasting any time either.
Nope they will not, it goes against the party line.
It really is amazing, that almost for a month back in 1989, the entire world was transfixed on what was happening in Tiananmen Square.
Now, it’s as if it never happened.
That tells you how China has influenced our media and our education system.
