For almost five decades, Santa Monica Music Center was an oasis of arts and education that gave all walks of life the opportunity to bond over melodies.
But in the riots that reached Santa Monica on Sunday, almost everything inside was damaged or pilfered as the distraught owners looked on, and those who tried to defend the building had guns and other weapons pulled on them with no law enforcement to be found.
"It was just a horror movie," Lana Negrete, 40, who now co-owns the center with her father Chico and runs the business with her husband. "They took everything from us, and no one stopped them. It was so violating."

I’m a hack guitarist - I mean really bad - but even I enjoyed visiting this store. One of the best of its kind. What a damn shame - all for George, of course.

There’s a picture of Helen’s Bike shop, which is about a 10 minute walk from the music center with three employees. One on the roof with an AR15, and two guys near the front door, one with a pistol and one with a boomer.
Helen’s didn’t get looted.

At least one of the person was a flaming homophobe. I’ve seen reports of that before, too. No headlines on that, however. Apparently it’s okay to be a homophobe if your skin’s a certain color.

Unfortunately, you are probably correct. The media will tell them that it’s all Trump’s fault. And they will believe it.
Sounds like what they needed were some roof Koreans. Those guys knew how to defend some commercial space. No police necessary.
