Mayor Lightfoot said she’s hopeful major retailers will reopen the Chicago stores that were looted or otherwise damaged during protests surrounding George Floyd’s killing by police in Minnesota. But, she’s unsure of one of the biggest.
Mayor Lightfoot said she was on a conference call with Walmart and other major retailers that had stores looted or heavily damaged during the unrest in Chicago. She said she pleaded with them to not abandon Chicago.

Same here in rural SC. I drove into Aiken the other day and you’d never know about COVID-19 (except for the few folks wearing masks) and the riots. No stores boarded up or closing early.
It’s really great living in a small town.
Glad my family and I had our Chicago experience in 2000: Cubs, Taste of Chicago, Billy Goat Tavern, Sears Tower, Field Museum, Shedd Aquarium, Museum of Science & Industry.

FWIW, last weekend saw 27 people killed and 92 others shot and wounded in Chicago.......Sooner or later they have to run out of thugs.

With the Left insisting that the personal is political, we are forced to know more about him than we ever wanted to know.
The big cities need a new, improved Ghetto Walmart: a store with plenty of guards, steel bars around products and projectile resistant glass around clerks. ...and maybe some very durable paint that is a mix of all colors (O.D. green), so messes won’t show as much. ...and parking lots with plenty of barriers, big speed bumps and turns.
If the mayor does not use the stores’ security video footage to identify and arrest the looters, then she is not serious about wanting the stores to stay in the city.
Not that long ago, Chicongo was fighting tooth and nail to keep Wal-Mart out.
Hopefully they all said, “ SEE YA”

While at the same time not doing a damn thing about looters.
