The most politically sensitive investigation in my lifetime by DOJ.

Undeniable.

The acting AG above the investigation never demanded to see the proof. Period.

His #1 responsibility was to supervise those below him to include the special counsel investigation.

He did nothing. They had nothing. The damage was inflicted daily on the President we elected. Daily.

He never should have allowed them to play the process crime game. Never. He illegally appointed a special counsel. He knew it was partisan. He let it happen. He let it drag on through the 2018 election when he knew they had nothing.

Despite knowing they had nothing, he expanded the scope of the special counsel to investigate Trump.

This goes beyond a simple failure and blind trust.

Yep - it is a way to buy himself a few seconds to think and check whether the upcoming lie will fit into the broader false scenario he is trying to convey. He has had months to concoct the overall story line but every individual falsehood has to be quickly checked.

He has a primary challenger for whom I will cast a vote, Michael LaPierre. Unfortunately, he has no visibility/recognition in state. We are one week from the primary and not even a mailer in the box. I’m only aware of some radio ads. But again, he’ll get my vote and that of many others.

Make no mistake folks - Rosensteins primary job was to drive the bus. He was responsible. He drove it off the cliff. His punishment is to sit here today and squirm.

That’s it.

Can you imagine if the military functioned like this? The Generals just stay above it all and allow their subordinates to set the battle order and direct the movements ending in massive defeat and they blame the subordinates?

He won’t even come out and say “I got played and the country got played.” He just says “golly, shucks, I did not know because I was so above it all.”

It WAS his responsibility to oversee this thing. He was the ONLY person who could demand that Mueller show him the proof of collusion - the ridiculous reason they began it - and he did not. He expanded the power of the special counsel to investigate all things “Trump.” Why did he not shut it down? They had nothing. They knew they had nothing.

There was no justification for the special counsel. None.

The real answers are obvious. We won’t get those from this hearing.

What a tremendous show. I'm sure the LSM is getting lots of sound bites for their later dissemination. And that's exactly what this is, a show. Lots of TV camera face time for the participants, wonder how many of them bought a new tie just for this?

This is a 100% waste of time, and more importantly, a waste of our hard earned tax dollars. This committee is largely toothless. The only people who will maybe, possibly, get anything actionable out of this is the DOJ, if they are even watching.

A real circus.

No one has asked about much of anything. I was happy there was going to be a hearing because every chance to find out more should be conducted, but we will clearly not learn anything more from this witness.

This is Rosensteins punishment today. He basically said that to Josh Hawley.

He was the person MOST responsible for this. Never forget that. He appointed Mueller for a fraud. His justification for the special counsel was a fraud. His scope memo broadened the fraud. He continued Mueller knowing it was a fraud and knowing it was damaging the President and influencing the 2018 election.

It was his responsibility. They are making the FBI the “fall guy” for the mistakes highlighted by the OIG, but the real mistake was that an adult somewhere in the chain did not demand to see the proof. Even the fraudulent proof he keeps referencing and blaming others for used as the basis of this thing was beyond flimsy and did not justify what DOJ did.

What are you talking about? Rod’s getting paid for having taken flak while trying to subvert a duly elected president and administration. He didn’t quite succeed, but he took a lot of time off the clock and moved the ball forward.
