inssurection is declared? ... I assume all the legal work will be done ahead of time. Bill Barr has been at the White House this afternoon. My family member is just an enlisted man, a highly trained killing machine, but not an officer. So I know they are getting ready to go. That’s all.

DC is Federal property, not the same as states.

Posse commiatus was re-written in the 2006 re-writing of the Insurrection act.
In this case, the President can send them in until the states can restore order.

The 82nd does not arrest people, I will leave it at that......

Once the Insurrection Act is invoke, yes, they can arrest. My battalion did it in the LA riots.

Thank you all for the prayers. I’m pretty shook. This has the potential of making some very ugly decisions on the streets that he has to live with the remainder of his life. The vermin are still Americans, but with what is going on I am of the mindset looters should be shot.

Can they arrest people? Yes. Because we have been in a state of emergency since 1933....that’s how presidents can issue executive orders....people have known this for years.

US Troops moving on domestic issues? Or does this become legal if inssurection is declared?
The libs are salivating over this, because the precedent is being set to use this in the future, and you better believe the libs will use it in the future.

That was apparently repealed in 2008.

However, since it is clear that many state and local officials will not act to protect the property rights of their residents, but are actually aiding and abetting the law breakers in their destruction and thievery, Trump could invoke Eisenhower’s justification:
[In the mid-20th century, the administration of President Dwight D. Eisenhower used an exception to the Posse Comitatus Act, derived from the Enforcement Acts, to send federal troops into Little Rock, Arkansas, during the 1957 school desegregation crisis. The Arkansas governor had opposed desegregation after the United States Supreme Court ruled in 1954 in the Brown v. Board of Education that segregated public schools were unconstitutional. The Enforcement Acts, among other powers, allowed the president to call up military forces when state authorities were either unable or unwilling to suppress violence that were in opposition to the citizens’ constitutional rights.[5]]

They gonna do an airdrop. That would be cool.Ha! They do a combat jump into the National Mall. Even I, a major 82d hater, would have to admit that'd be pretty cool.

In this event, review the updated (2006) Insurrection Act.
It spells out what the President can do, and how he can direct the troops. PC was adjusted in this process.
To: Busywhiskers
If they do an airdrop, I hope they steer clear of the Washington Monument.
