If the ME is elected, and the guy’s a Democrat, the pressure to gin up a case out of thin air becomes even worse. Blacks are 25% of Minneapolis’s population. If citywide elections are a 50-50 proposition between the two parties, that means blacks are 50% of the Democratic primaries. Any Democrat pol who rubs them the wrong way, by not reaching a pre-determined conclusion that reinforces the bad white cop narrative is toast, electorally-speaking.
