Michael Baden-— ok.
Asphyxia from sustained pressure. However there were several other acting confounders as they are called- ones which the officer could have only guessed but... should have assumed, which affected the rapidity of asphyxia:
“The county’s report also said Floyd’s underlying health conditions included coronary artery disease and hypertensive heart disease. It concluded that the underlying health conditions, combined with Chauvin’s restraint and any possible intoxicants in Floyd’s system, likely contributed to his death.”
So every officer must have this in mind— and train accordingly? How is that on the scene possible to know with out a drug/tox screen after the fact.
Plain and simple...from what I have seen.
The cop was guilty.
Period.
where did you see that it was Baden? I knew they were thinking of him, but did he do the autopsy? He’s been wrong in the past too- if it was him-
baden.......havent we heard that name before?
Baden also said he died at the scene. I had read he died an hour later. That should be easy to clear up.
“So every officer must have this in mind and train accordingly”
If they aren’t already, their department is negligent.
Difficult, I’m sure, for any officer to know what they’re dealing with when they reach a suspect, but I imagine going forward they’ll be calling out the cavalry when a suspect resists arrest or complains of health problems, just to cover their butts. Now we’ll see the Fire Department, Paramedics, AND the cops at a scene.
