A conservative activist says the mask has become a leftist symbol on how to belittle and punish people who choose to not submit to the demands of autocratic authority.
New York Governor Andrew Cuomo (D) recently issued an executive order authorizing business owners the right to deny entry to people not wearing masks or face coverings. The new edict comes as restrictions on shops are beginning to loosen around the state, though not yet in New York City.
Face coverings are already required in New York when people are out in public and near others, and other states and municipalities have also mandated masks, even though a number of studies question their effectiveness against COVID-19.
Gary Bauer of American Values says the left has used the mask as a political weapon.
"I think it's disgusting the way the media leaps to label anybody that chooses not to wear the mask as being somehow a know-nothing or stupid, when the experts themselves have had different advice about wearing a mask all through this ordeal," he observes.
And Bauer uses the incident involving Democratic presidential hopeful Joe Biden and his wife wearing masks while attending a Memorial Day ceremony as another example.
"Nobody at that area where he laid the memorial was going to get closer than ten feet to the vice president, but he and his wife thought that somehow this was showing their superiority or their seriousness by wearing a mask, when there was really no reason, logical or otherwise, for them to do so."
The World Health Organization recently declared that masks should only be worn by healthcare workers and those who are infected and said there is "no evidence" to show that "wearing a mask can protect healthy people from coronavirus.

I’m not sure masks have become of political weapon, but they certainly identify people I do not want to associate. My friends and family do not wear masks when they get together. They all believe this is a hoax. I want to deal with people who want to be free of tyranny. The mask has become a symbol of tyranny. Not wearing one is a symbol of resistance.

The store owners HERE have to have an occupancy counter or counters at the entrance and they are the ones who stop people without face coverings, even though they don't have to.
The mask people, “maskers”, as I call them, are MSM believers and are scared nearly to death of everyone and everything. Look at the ones driving alone, with the windows up, wearing a mask. Some you don’t see because they are still afraid to leave the house. I believe the maskers are mostly Democrats.
We can get rid of masks in one day. Just post a picture of a sea turtle stuck in a mask and it will be illegal to even own a mask.

Every day I see discarded masks in gutters, parking lots, etc. One would think that the environmentalists would be as up-in-arms about these as they are about plastic bags.
Yes, and the demand that healthy people have to pretend they are sick is tyrannical. I only wear a mask when someone’s license is attached to it, like when I got my first haircut in 10 weeks. They can only be open if they enforce a mask rule. Good enough, the young black guy that cuts my hair has two kids and couldn’t work for 7 weeks. I tipped him $100.
I don’t wear one at the grocery store, and where I live a lot of people don’t wear them. Haven’t had or seen any run-ins with Karens about it either. Even some of the 70-somethings (like me) don’t wear them.
Antifa brownshirts were wearing masks before they were mandatory.

The New England Journal of Medicine states “We know that wearing a mask outside health care facilities offers little, if any, protection from infection….The chance of catching Covid-19 from a passing interaction in a public space is therefore minimal.”
The World Health Organization’s advises “If you are healthy, you only need to wear a mask if you are taking care of a person with COVID-19.”
According to CDC and US Census data, “If you are under 65, in reasonably good health and do not have a vitamin D deficiency, you have only a tiny chance of dying from COVID-19. And if you are younger than 34, your chances of dying from the virus are so small as to be almost statistically undetectable.”
If the Left can make you wear a mask, the Left can transform America.
If you are healthy, don’t wear a mask – resist the Left, and live free.
