What has happened over the last few nights in major cities of the United States is unacceptable. It has gotten worse because of federal and state passivity. Law enforcement is a vital response to any riotous uprising. Indeed, I believe the failure to enforce the laws without apology from the start of the upheaval last week has fueled its ferocity. It would be naïve to claim that much of the violence, which is being incited and coordinated by radical groups, might not have happened anyway — these groups are always on a hair-trigger, pouncing on any opportunity to make mayhem. But how badly things get out of control has a lot to do with the resolve of state and federal law enforcement. The laws do not enforce themselves.
They want Trump to act so the Left can have the precedent. No thanks. I think this is another chess move by Trump. He said he was going to act if the (MN Mayor) didn’t do so, and the Mayor/Gov just committed to more Nat’l Guard troops and a curfew. So Trump lit a fire underneath them.
Trump probably smart to avoid Federal involvement, and the subsequent blame
these mayors and governors- cowards, are shifting THEIR responsibility onto the president because they know for a fact that they will get blowback for ‘police brutality’ if they do the hard work necessary to stop these riots the only way possible, with force-
either do your jobs NOW- or resign your positions immediately for failure to uphold your oath of office!
He’s trying to pull a Katrina and blame this all on Trump and the federal response because the poor widdle states are all overwhelmed.
F-that. We’re a REPUBLIC and each state has lots of power that they’ve abused and let deteriorate - it’s time for that to be reversed.
I think it’s important for Trump to get on TV and make a forceful statement about law & order and that we as country won’t tolerate this looting crap. Everyone I’m talking to is surprised that he isn’t doing so already. Pet theory I’m hearing is the idea that Trump thinks poor black turnout for Biden in November is a key for reelection and doesn’t want to offend them.
