[snip] The legislation put forward Thursday serves as a companion bill to the legislation Sen. Tom Cotton, R-Ark., introduced in the Senate earlier this month.

“I am working with Sen. Cotton on this effort to make sure COVID-19 resources go to taxpaying Americans, not non-citizens who broke our immigration laws,” Buck told Fox News.

The No Bailouts for Illegal Aliens Act is a direct response to states providing coronavirus funding to undocumented migrants who did not receive stimulus checks from the CARES Act, which Congress passed in March to provide economic relief to Americans struggling from the coronavirus shutdowns.

Ridiculous headline on the article. Until the bill passes, and it won’t have a chance of passing the Senate if Sen. McConnell persists in keeping the filibuster rule, the GOP hasn’t stopped anything.

Now, if McConnell would abandon the rule, the Senate would pass the bill and Democrat House members would be put in a precarious position. It would be their individual votes, not the Senate, that would stop the doling out of taxpayer dollars to those here illegally.

As it is today, the bill will simply die in the Senate, as have most needed changes for the past four years.
