I’ve been saying for years that we need to get ready for the day Rush is not around. He’s had enough money to retire on, then he went deaf, now he has advanced lung cancer which is being stubborn to treat.
The people they send in there to cover for him are all pretty lame.
Maybe Tucker? or Jesse Watters? I’d like to see them fill in. Must think on their feet extremely well. No script.
He even has Chris Matthews filling in at times.
It's one thing to sit in for a host for a few days be really hot and sound great but its a whole other ball game to do it for say 20 years.
It's Hard to explain what it takes. But it requires a very special person to keep an audiences attention. Some times loads of guests will work,it did for me, other times callers are the answer. It's different with everyone.
Those who simply copy cat can survive but never thrive.
