Donald Trump has put the Army on notice to be deployed to US streets for the first time since the 1992

Command and control in these situations always confuse me. I understand the active duty MP soldiers will most likely be under the command of an Army brigade commander. Who does the active duty Army colonel report to? The governor? The state adjutant general? Or a federal authority on ground? Who's in charge here?

If activated by federal orders, they will be under title 10 control, which means federal, not state. If activated by the governor, they are under his command and control.

Soldiers ALWAYS obey the chain of command into which they have been placed. I believe that will be completely US armed forces personnel who are subject to the UCMJ until you get to the level of the Secretary of the Army, (or other civilian service chief) Secretary of Defense, and the POTUS.
