I heard it live, the press conference. About 2 AM CST maybe. Both the guvner and mayor read some boilerplate word salad bull$&@t, groveled a bit, apologized for something they aren’t guilty of and pivoted immediately to ‘splainin why they couldn’t or wouldn’t do anything they are statutorily required to. The usual leftist democrat politician nonsense.
Then they had a question and answer period. Well the guvner did anyway. The mayor immediately un-assed the AO for golly knows where. It might have been among the very first questions. It had an odor about it.
It wasn’t something that caught him off guard. Seems to me he either provided the question to the press, or it was provided to him, or whatever. Everybody on the livestream was laughing their ass off, watching this unfold in real time. Even the host, not exactly a conservative firebrand by any stretch, was incredulous anybody would say something like this.
