Yes I am sitting in Da Burgh as we speak.
Grew up here.
Though I do not actually say Yinz as when I came along Pittsburgh was in one of it’s regular twenty-year downcycles where there were no jobs here. So I was born in Ohio and my parents later moved back.
Thus they gave me the greatest gift any two parents can give their child: NOT moving back to Pittsburgh until after he had learned to speak.
Though particular drawly Southern things do come out of my mouth on occasion. My mom said that in Ohio we were the only non-Kentuckians living on the block.
I love it there and miss the beautiful scenery. If I had my way, I’d move to New Wilmington or maybe even Lancaster County.
There's ABSOLUTELY nothing wrong with that.
It is even more proper English from the Elizabethan period than what passes for English in London today.
You don't have to say Yinz. A "Y'all" is preferred. An "All Y'all" for everyone in the room.
