I agree that Taylor is impressive and he’d be my second choice but there is no evidence that Taylor is more likely to defeat the Democrat than King. Big out-of-state money was what defeated 2 Republican incumbents and nearly defeated King.
Hiowever, it looks like the big money backing Feenstra now may be wasting their money. Let’s hope so.
I drive around a lot in eastern IA04. Not seeing much for yards signs for any of the candidates. In fact yesterday I only saw 3, one each for King, Feenstra, and Taylor.
I don't have a good feel on the race from the word on the street. Nobody is really saying much, which I actually think is good news for King. If it does go to convention, Feenstra is not going to come out of it I don't think. I don't think he is any candidate's 2nd choice.
