I don't care if the guy were a terrorist that had just killed people. Once you have him in handcuffs, on the ground with his arms behind his back, he is no longer resisting... you stop all aggressive physical behavior.

Worse, there is absolutely no police procedure for placing your full body weight on a subdued suspect that is already flat on the ground and cannot raise himself to properly breathe... let alone do it for 6 minutes. This is murder.

I know... to some, the dead guy is some dude they don't know or care about. But what if that were their son being choked to death in that fashion. I bet all the 'must have had a reason' folks would change their tune.

Well if it were my son I'd be asking what was he doing to find himself in that situation in the first place....and if he was drugged or drunk or both, belligerent and resisting .. what in the world did he expect would happen?

Police are not always going to be fair and do things right when they're handling a criminal arrest amid a rowdy crowd. Just as teachers, attorneys, judges and all in the public service have to contend with a public that's never satisfied and often ungrateful and violent themselves...
