Sure, sometimes the giant ants from Them come out, other times The Terminator is chasing a hunter killer on his motorcycle in them.

Yes. Usually at the bottoms of the rivers.

We call them aqueducts or washes in AZ. :)

Seriously; there are a few good rivers in SoCal. NorCal should have a lot more.

If that is a serious question, in So.Cal., the rivers are dry 10 months out of the year. During the “Rainy Season” when it can pour, the water flooding down from the elevations is overwhelming. Decades ago, after a few disasters, the Army Corps of Engineers built concrete channels out of some of the bigger rivers, to make them flow more directly, to the ocean, without inundating the low lying areas.
