U.S. Rep. Mike Kelly (R-Pa.) is opening up more Wednesday about using hydroxychloroquine during his battle with the coronavirus (COVID-19). Hydroxychloroquine is the anti-malarial drug not yet approved to treat the COVID-19, but has been considered by President Donald Trump to be an effective treatment despite some studies revealing potential health risks. Last week, Trump said he had been taking the drug for weeks to prevent contracting the novel virus.
Kelly tells WENY News plenty of personal research and discussions with his doctor guided his decision to take hydroxychloroquine.
“He said ‘okay, I can’t tell you you’re right and I can’t tell you you’re wrong’,” Kelly recalled of the conversation between he and his doctor. “’I can just tell you that you’ve looked at it pretty strongly and I would concur with you that your general state of health, you’re a pretty good candidate for this.’ So, I started taking it.”
The prescription was relatively short.
“A total of nine pills, ten pills, one each day for that,” Kelly said.
Kelly was diagnosed with COVID-19 two months ago on March 27 after he was tested at a drive-thru clinic in Butler, Pa. The 72-year-old was quarantined in his Butler home for over a month, and was officially considered coronavirus-free on May 6. He is now participating in a national clinical trial studying the effectiveness of blood transfusion for treating COVID-19.
“I lost about 30 lbs. in ten days,” Kelly said referring to his battle with the virus.
Since then, Trump said he also has been taking the drug. But in an interview Sunday with Sinclair Broadcasting, Trump announced he just finished a two-week treatment.
“Finished, just finished,” Trump said.

When the RATs likely colluded with the CCP for the purchase and release of the virus with hard-working taxpayer dollars for their “Plan B” effort after impeachment failed, they also likely purchased the simple prophylaxis as well for themselves, loved ones and families.
Apparently, President Trump somehow found out about it and literally “let the cat out of the bag” so to speak. The communist RATs have since fought “hammer & tong” to deride it and make it sound like it’s useless. Truth be known, they were all probably taking it.
There are a lot of folks that need to be publicly dangling from ropes over this BS.
The minute POTUS Trump touted hydroxychloroquine,the American left crushed that one potential remedy at every angle and it is sickening.
Oh no! Fauci is saddened.
